Q. How long do cast iron radiators last?

We give an unmatched 25 year guarantee on all radiators we supply, which may seem over generous until one considers our radiators have already been around and perfectly functioning for 50 -100 years, therefore will easily manage another 100 years. Thus in our experience, this should be offered as standard.
Q. What is the difference between an original cast iron radiator vs a replica style radiator?
A: 98% of cast iron radiators available in the UK today are produced in China, unfortunately due to their poor construction and quality usually fail within the first 3 years. As a company, we have first-hand experience dealing with countless customers whose replica cast iron radiators failed and were consequently scrapped.
There are a few UK based companies that sell better quality reproductions (copies of the originals), but in some of these cases cost double the price.
Q. What are the differences between modern radiators vs an original cast iron radiator?
A. Modern radiators can heat up a little quicker, however the original cast iron model will continue to heat your room for up to an hour after tuning it off, whereas a modern radiator will be cold in 10 – 15 minutes. Modern radiators do not pound for pound give out as much heat as original cast iron radiators.
Q. Are cast iron radiators compatible with modern heating systems?
A. Yes. All original radiators are fitted with new bushes which connect to all modern systems.
Q. Am I restricted on the sizes and styles of cast iron radiator I want to choose for my rooms?
A. We suggest your room dictates the size of the radiator and the choice of style is down to personal taste. We recommend a balance between the size of a room and the size of the radiator.
